I decided I’m going to send out invites to 3 of my blog readers, all you need to do is drop a comment, post a blog about this post, or link back to my blog. Be very creative about it. I’ll pick the winners this weekend and I’ll email you personally to let you know I chose you.

I haven’t had time to fully dig into Wave but this looks like it will forever change the way we exchange emails.

When I first saw it appear on my browser I couldn’t quite tell what it was, it looked like a cracked icon or some sort. Not until I did my research that I found out that the white space is actually the letter G.

The inspiration for this new design actually came from André Resende, a computer science undergraduate student at the University of Campinas in Brazil. His placement of a white ‘g’ on a color-blocked background was highly recognizable and attractive, while seeming to capture the essence of Google.

Personally, I wish Google kept Andre’s design. I really like it and I think it’s more balanced. Below is Google’s favicon history from oldest to newest…which one do you like most?
